Change To Incoterms

To our customers based in the Republic of Ireland.

I am pleased to advise you that from 1st July 2024 we will change our trading incoterms for our customers based in Ireland from DAP to DDP.

This change will result in Straits Trading being responsible for paying any import customs duties due and any charges from our customs clearance agent JMC Vantrans Ltd.

Straits Trading is now registered for VAT in Ireland (IE3766174NH).  As such from 1st July we will also start to invoice you in Euros rather than GBP and will charge you VAT at 23%.

If we currently have a pending GBP order on our system for you, this will be converted to a Euro priced order at the beginning of July and a new order acknowledgment will be forwarded to you at the earliest opportunity.

From the 1st July, any order taken will be priced in Euros.  We plan to change all our sales tools so orders can be taken in Euros, but this may not be in place by 1st July.  If this is the case and an order is placed via the website or via your sales agent in Sterling, this will be converted to a Euro-priced order, and a new acknowledgement sent to you.

Our new catalogue, arriving in July, will include Euro prices.

The current minimum carriage paid order for Ireland is £750.  From 1st July this will be €900.
