Getting Ready for Autumn Fair!

It’s nearly time for the International Autumn Fair at the Birmingham NEC. Suppliers like us and customers alike look forward to the big trade shows. It’s the time we get to connect to our customers and show them our new products. The range of home and giftware at Straits trading is vast, it really helps customers to walk around the stand and view our full collection.

We also relish the opportunity to meet new customers and let them know what we are about. We are so thankful that our customers sing our praises on the stand, it’s so lovely to hear and helps us secure new business.

A lot of work goes into attending a trade show. We have our showroom set up year-round so it needs to be taken apart and safely transported to Birmingham, it’s a mammoth task! Care is taken to ensure nothing is damaged in transit. It usually takes around a week to pack everything up safely.

Then we transport all the stock down to the NEC and set it all up again! Our sales director, Steve Webb, oversees the set up. He’s assisted by members of our sales and head office team. Joined by Chetna when it's time for the show to begin. Chetna is a familiar face to anyone who visits the trade shows, she’s worked with us for 20 years! Chetna is normally tucked away in a corner of the office designing or off on photoshoots. She finds the shows are a nice change of scenery and chance for her to see our customers.

This hard-working team spend the next four days setting up the stand. They make sure it’s gleaming before doors open bright and early on Sunday morning.

Then it's showtime! You'll find us in Hall 7, Stand D30-F31.

After four busy days, it’s time to take it all back down. The team are joined by some of our warehouse staff who pack up all the stock in the evening, ready to bring back to the showroom the next day.

It’s an absolute whirlwind, especially since once the show has finished the showroom is set up for the new season! So, in September we will be showcasing our Spring Summer 24 stock.
